YOU ARE SURPRISED AREN'T YOU? LONG TIME NO NEWS! I MISSED YOU, YOU MISSED ME, MY APOLOGIES. I was away, out of the country. Bear with me. Here is my story:

I WAS ALL ALONE IN THE AIRPORT. There was endless walking. I walked and walked and also on flat escalators I rode. There was another check point where my hand luggage were screened and checked. Then ransacked. Me and everybody accepted.

Finally I was in the lounge waiting to board the plane. And then, we the crowd of passengers boarded the plane. When I stepped into the plane, the air hostess showed me my seat just by the door. Wow! It was such a good seat. I was very happy to have Min chosen the seat for me sat No. 42A. An elderly couple were already seated there. We exchanged some greetings but I did not talk much as I was not in the mood to do so.

Outside the sky started to pour. Rain water even pelted down through the gap between the plane and the boarding platform. It was a real heavy shower out there. Through the window I could see the pouring rainwater. In the distance all I could see was but a total grey. So the plane did not take off. But it waited for an hour before I finally took to the sky. Even then, it was still raining. I looked out of the window and saw rainwater pouring at the plane engine.

The seat I was in was just near the door. I did not have to walk in further. Only later when I walked to the lavatory did I see that the plane was full of passengers inside. I did not talk much to the Lows because all the time they were watching TV with the ear phones stuck in their ears! I kept quiet all the way.

The flight was a tedious and boring one. I did not even watch the TV. There was a screen in front on the wall that showed where the plane was. It flew up the Malay Peninsula and then crossed the Indian Ocean. Then I flew for a long time over the sky in India. It then flew over the Middle East for a long long time. I slept but most of the time was looking at the screen. It was a long haul. I realized that it was more than 10 hours. Later I discovered that we were 13 hours in the sky. Sitting in the plane was really boring. I glanced at the screen. We had four meals two heavy ones and two light ones. At about 12.00 noon we had our lunch. The lunch was potatoes and chicken. The food was not tasty. I could not even finish it. Several times I went to the lavatory in the middle of the plane. (I recalled the three words: lavatory, toilet, loo).

Finally at 4.45 London time, the plane landed in London Heathrow Airport. I walked out of the airport feeling much relieved. I went through immigration. At the counter a forty something old man checked my passport. I showed him a letter from my daughter Caryn and he was please to read it. Immediately he let me in. For the next two months I sojourned in the U.K.

How many folks do you know who say they don't want to drink anything before going to bd because they'll have to get up during the night???

1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion
1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure
1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack

I can also add to this... My Physician told me that water at bed time will also help prevent night time leg cramps. Your leg muscles are seeking hydration when they cramp and wake you up with a Charlie Horse.

Mayo Clinic Aspirin Dr. Virend Somers, is a Cardiologist from the Mayo Clinic, who is lead author of the report in the July 29, 2008 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Most heart attacks occur in the day, generally between 6 A.M. and noon. Having one during the night, when the heart should be most at rest, means that something unusual happened. Somers and his colleagues have been working for a decade to show that sleep apnea is to blame.

1. If you take an aspirin or a baby aspirin once a day, take it at night. The reason: Aspirin has a 24 - hour "half-life"; therefore, if most heart attacks happen in the wee hours of the morning, the Aspirin would be strongest in your system.

Something that we can do to help ourselves - nice to know. Bayer is making crystal aspirin to dissolve instantly on the tongue. They work much faster than the tablets. Why keep Aspirin by your bedside? It's about Heart Attacks.

There are other symptoms of a heart attack, besides the pain on the left arm. One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating; however, these symptoms may also occur less frequently.

Note: There may be NO pain in the chest during a heart attack.

The majority of people (about 60%) who had a heart attack during their sleep did not wake up. However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep. If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.

Afterwards:- Call 911. -Phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by. -Say "heart attack!" -Say that you have taken 2 Aspirins. Take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and... DO NOT LIE DOWN!

A Cardiologist has stated that if each person after receiving this e-mail, sends it to 10 people, probably one life could be saved! I have already shared this information. What about you? Do forward this message. It may save lives!

Raw ONION on bottom of the feet to take away illness.

"During the night, I started feeling good. I mean really good! I felt tingly, like my blood was being cleansed (it was). It was so cool! My bedroom smells like a casserole, but it was totally worth it! Here is the deal:

So last night Evan (11) was keeping everyone awake with his cough. I got up, went to the kitchen and sliced a purple, make me cry onion, at 3am. I got some snug socks and put it on the bottom of his feet. To boost my own immunity, I decided to try this too. During the rest of the night, I started feeling good. I mean really good! I felt tingly, like my blood was being cleansed. It was so cool!

This works in 2 ways.
1). Onions are known to absorb toxins. In fact, during the days of the Plague in England, folks would keep chopped onions around to absorb toxins and clean the air. This helped protect them, against getting the plague.

NEVER SAVE AN ONION. It will absorb all the toxins in the air of your refrigerator. Eat that and you eat the toxins. Instead: Chop your left over onion, put it on a plate and keep it in your kitchen as a natural air purifier. I do this all the time! If someone is ill, place a chopped onion on the night stand, next to the bed. They'll be better in the morning. I placed the remaining onion, next to Evan last night.

Onions are toxin absorbers. Thus why they are great internal mops for the body Eat plenty of onions!

2). The onion and garlic families are anti-microbial and anti-bacterial. Placing them on the bottom of the foot gives them access to your internal organs through meridians in your body. The onion can be directly delivered. Trans-dermal delivery (on the skin) is one of the best delivery mechanisms, as it will bypass the stomach acids and go directly into the blood. The bottom of the feet and the forearm are great places to put high powered foods and essential oils into the body. Sliced garlic on the bottom of the feet will work nicely too."

One day on arrival, I stopped at Ah Peng Street to have a cup of tea. I ate a steamed bun filled with black bean paste. I arrived at the Bukit Chamang house. The house had been abandoned for some time. I have taken some photos for remembrance.

A few of jackfruit on the tree have matured. I plucked three of them to keep them so that they might ripen later.

When I contacted our mentor he was out. Later his care-giver Lai Mei called. So I drove up to his bungalow. A pack of twelve howling hounds gave a rousing welcome. We sat down. We talked. I have not seen him for about two months.

"what is the news?" he shrugged his shoulders and replied, "no news." So I said, "Good news, like you used to say no news is good news." We talked of all and sundry. Touching on his health he said he was well. He had some visitors, but he could not tell.

I took a slow drive down to the capital city. At Sentul, I veered my little Kembara into Lorong Kovil to visit John Chinniah. I have not seen our buddy for months now. Good luck he was healthy and robust. He had some bad news for me. Remember Mr. Willie, our former teacher who had wonderful vocal chords for songs? He is now to be known as the late Mr. Willie. He had passed on in Singapore on the 20th of February, 2014.

On the 23rd of June 2014 a memorial service was held at St. James Church, Sentul, Kuala Lumpur for the late Mr. Willie attended by his wife and daughters, relatives and friends of the congregation. The late Mr. Willie had an illustrative career as a church singer in Singapore.

We former M.E.S. Bentong principal, teachers and surviving students would like to express our heart-felt condolences to the family members of the late Mr. Willie Dharmaratnam for their loss and bereavement.
